A Japanese Approach to Bodywork in the Alps
My approach to bodywork has grown from two worlds: the discipline of sport and the sensitivity of Japanese touch.
Sport gave me a direct understanding of movement, effort, and the demands we place on the body. Japanese manual traditions offered another perspective: rather than seeing the body as something to correct, they taught me to observe it in a quieter and more intuitive way — through touch, breath, rhythm, and presence.
Chamonix brings together people who ask a lot from themselves physically — skiers, climbers, runners, mountain professionals, travellers, and local residents. Each person carries a unique history in the way they stand, move, and hold themselves.
My work is rooted in the Japanese way of listening through the hands: through the pulse, abdominal tension, quality of energy, and subtle changes in the body.
For this reason, sessions do not follow a fixed protocol. They begin with observation, listening, and respect for the person, offering a moment to pause, settle, and reconnect after active days in the mountains.
In this way, each session addresses the clients’ energetic imbalances and promotes their long-term balance and vitality, offering them a holistic path to optimal wellness.
